| HELPING BEREAVED FAMILIES AND THOSE WHO CARE FOR CHILDREN WITH LIFE LIMITING CONDITIONS AND TERMINAL ILLNESSES |
Our long term aspirations are to generate substantial funds to facilitate a 'Layla's Lodge' retreat on the Isle of Wight.
This would be a holiday retreat for families with terminally ill or severely disabled children who require specialist accommodation, or as respite care under trained medical supervision and carers. We have a long way to go before we can reach our dream.

If you, or anyone you know, has any interest in exploring the idea of Layla's Lodge further, discussing ideas or if you have any expertise or experience in this field, then we would really like to hear from you. As a small charity, we feel at the present time that this project is unobtainable. Whilst we think we would be able to raise enough funds to build Layla's Lodge after a substantial and long fundraising enterprise, we do not think it feasible that a charity of our size would be able to sustain the revenue needed to run such a lodge over a long period of time. Whilst we are not talking of an enterprise the size of Naomi House in Winchester, the running cost for this establishment is £7m per year. This gives some indication as to the nature of the task that we would be undertaking. It is not inappropriate to estimate that a £1m projection would not be feasible. It is therefore clear that this project would have to be a joint venture between various organisations to realise this goal. Please get in touch if you have any information that maybe able to help us move this project forward.
